NEW Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN) Course v 3.0 + exam (200-310).

Existing exam retires on Dec 15th 2015 (640-864)

Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions Version (DESGN) Course v 3.0 is a new version. In addition to general approaches and technologies for network design, it promotes Cisco solutions in designing and implementing scalable internetworks. Among specific goals is the promotion of the modular approach to network design that has been intuitively used for the last few years and that Cisco formalized. The early modular approaches to network design divided networks into access, distribution and core layers only, separately for the campus and the WAN part.

Existing exam retires on Dec 15th 2015 (642-873)

New in v3.0 is the addition of a content addressing software defined networks (SDN). Building on the Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN) v3.0 course, in the ARCH course the students will learn additional aspects of modular campus design, advanced addressing and routing designs, WAN service designs, enterprise data center, and security designs.

The goal of the WIFUND v1.0 is to provide students with information and practice activities to prepare them to help design, install, configure, monitor and conduct basic troubleshooting tasks of a Cisco WLAN in SMB and Enterprise installations. As an associate level, the course aims at providing entry level information, and will not specialize in any of the advanced features of the Cisco WLAN networks solutions.

Existing IINS exam retires on Nov 30th 2015 (640-554)

The new version 3.0 content now includes descriptions of NGIPS technologies such as FirePower, FireSight, and Cisco Advanced Malware Protection.

Focus on Access Control Lists (ACL’s) has been reduced, since ACL’s are covered in (the prerequisite) ICND1.

Many newer technologies are now expressly included in the course materials:

- 802.1x
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
- Cisco Cloud Web Security (CWS)
- Cloud & Virtualization

Updated examples of security risks, more closely aligned with today’s common security threats.
- References to some standards and technologies has also been brought up to date.

DES and MD5 are replaced with more current algorithms.
