The course provides an introduction to Cisco NCS 2000 and ONS 15454 MSTP solutions for existing optical Channel Partners as well as those invited to join the Cisco optical program. The course is targeted at account managers, pre-sales engineers and system engineers, who need to sell, design, architect, and implement NCS 2000 and ONS 15454 MSTP solutions.

  • Design typical basic DWDM network topologies
  • Identify the shelf layout and cards and their features for the NCS 2000 and ONS 15454 MSTP platforms
  • Describe the key elements of DWDM network design
  • Identify the steps used to turn up a network and create DWDM circuits with the use of Cisco Transport Planner design tool
  • Identify the basic DWDM protection schemes and explain how to build multi-layer redundancy
  • Explain how the CTC and Prime Optical are used as end-to-end network management tools for the NCS 2000 and ONS 15454 MSTP platforms
