Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Gather information about the customer’s business and IT requirements
- Identify the steps necessary to develop an appropriate HP storage solution to meet customer requirements
- Identify the components of an HP Converged Infrastructure as it relates to storage
- Define SAN technologies
- Position the products that comprise the HP StorageWorks SAN portfolio
- Identify HP products and technologies that help manage a SAN
- Describe converged SAN management through switch architecture
- Identify HP Services designed for storage customers
- Use reference architectures and case studies to apply advanced SAN concepts
- Use HP tools to determine the best solution based on the customer's business requirement information
- Assess the technical requirements to support the solution based on the customer’s business requirements
Skills-based objectives:
- Analyze existing information to understand a customer’s business requirements regarding a SAN implementation
- Distinguish between a cluster and a grid computing opportunity
- List the requirements for creating a highly available shared storage pool in an HP Converged Infrastructure environment
- Select HP storage products and services based on customer requirements
- Review a Brocade Health Check for potential issues
- Generate HP Insight Orchestration infrastructure orchestration templates with the HP Sizer for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
- Use HP storage sizers and tools
