This course provides a comprehensive insight into the EU AI Act, the first major piece of legislation specifically designed for artificial intelligence in the European Union. Participants will learn how to put the Act's requirements into practice to develop innovative AI solutions that are not only technically advanced, but also legally compliant and ethically responsible. The module covers key elements of risk management in the context of AI applications, including the assessment, minimization and monitoring of risks.
Course Objectives
- Understanding the key aspects of the EU AI Act and its impact on the development and implementation of AI systems in the EU.
- Ability to identify and classify AI systems in accordance with the EU AI Act, including distinguishing between unacceptable, high, limited and minimal risk categories.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and management specifically for AI systems, including the development of risk mitigation strategies.
- Understanding of ethical considerations and the importance of transparency and accountability in the AI field.
- Practical experience through case studies and simulation exercises to implement the requirements of the EU AI Act in real-life scenarios.
